Oh My Word!!!

Well, I don't know what to say other than I have been silly crazy busy!!! It's been 20 days since my last post!!! I can't remember the last time I went this long without posting...sheesh :)

Hockey Tournaments, Rugby Championship games, Track & Field meets, Mother's Day, Dance Competitions, 16th Birthday, Convocation and Prom...that's what I've been doing...finishing off my Monthly Hostess Club Workshops for this session, creating layouts for two different classes I'm teaching for BC Scrapbooking Crop for Kids in October and preparing for my CTMH Convention in Dallas, Texas! Oh and creating for my DT responsibilities over at Let's Scrap!

Last week's sketch looks something like this:

and my version of it went a little like this :

Great new large alphabet stamp set from CTMH...love the whimsical feel from this one :)

Now I have to show off a couple of photos of what's been happening in my world as well...

My eldest daughter finished with High School and heading to University! Boy am I feeling old :(

But does she ever look like a beauty queen in these photos of her in her Prom dress...so proud :)

My middle daughter celebrated her 16th Birthday and we went to get her 'learners' driving permit...

My son making the final kick of the Fraser Valley Grade 8 Rugby Championship Game...we won!!! Yeah!!!!

and some Hockey thrown in there as well for good measure :)

Oh and I almost forgot about his Track and Field meet...

the Triple Jump, which he placed Third in...another proud Momma moment :)

and the 500M race...

and I forgot we celebrated Mother's Day as well which was fun as we went out for dinner to our favourite dinner spot...

and last but not least, my daughter turning 16 and her sweet boyfriend hosting a surprise birthday party for her last night :)

So seeing as I've been so super crazy busy with regular life stuff and some extra special events over that past two plus weeks...I have plenty of fun photos to now play with for my scrapbook pages...thanks for stopping by today and I hope your week is great!

More great sketches !

Well better later than never I always say! I have to confess that I've been crazy busy with various activities...and even though I am still creating, I'm not being so diligent with actually posting!

This past week, Let's Scrap posted another great sketch...as a Design Team member there we have been super busy creating {Inter}National Scrapbooking Month Challenges!
So make sure to pop over there to check them out and to try to play along if you can!

Here's last weeks sketch:

and this is what I created from it:

I happened to just look through my stash of already printed photos...I have had these ones printed since 2001 !!! We went to Florida, Disney World actually, soon after my father had recovered from his Prostrate surgery...all was good and we wanted to celebrate this by having our entire family on a holiday at the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

I had fun rolling some of the patterned paper into a cluster of candles for his Birthday...not sixty! but a few anyways and seeing as I love twine and have loads of Disney stickers, they were as great addition to this embellishment :)

I covered some CTMH star chipboards with more paper and stickers to add some dimension and of course needed some more twine and buttons :)
Thanks for stopping in today!

One sketch, three looks...

Time to start posting some layouts that I actually have scrapped over the past couple weeks...as you know I was away a couple weeks ago up at Loon Lake and the Ultimate Scrapbook Retreats...in April I was able to treat myself to a four day weekend of Scrapbooking...it's the only retreat that they offer for Thursday to Sunday...I love the extra day, it's amazing what you can get done with that extra day!

So we had a sketch at Let's Scrap a few weeks back for cards...now as soon as I saw what Debby had created, I thought only of layouts! Here's her sketch and some photos of how I used it for inspiration around getting three dance layouts completed for my daughter's Dance album!

Some really old embellies I've had laying around, so glad to put them to use!

These layouts are getting added to my daughters dance album...and seeing as they are all the same size, it was hard to try to think up multiple different looking layouts...but working with the same sketch made it fast and they all do look different even if I used the same sketch to start off  with!

My handy Exacto blade came to good use here as I didn't want to cover the wings on this emblem...the cork embellie and studs worked great with the military looking dance photo :)

Super plain layout...not really finished in my eye, but done nonetheless! Marissa had the best most perfect hair, so the photographer had her placed in the middle :) I love the stars here and the pink alphabet sheet stickers in felt were a great size to work with!

This last layout was fun because I was using up some of the tags I've collected that I liked from the kids' clothes! I thought they added a sassy attitude to the layout seeing as that was how I felt they danced to this song :)

Can of Worms!!!

Well I know you have all heard the expression, 'Opening up a can of worms'! Today, I have done exactly that :) I am in the final hours of preparations for the 'Use Your Stash' class tomorrow 10AM sharp! Where we will be getting instruction from the talented Jennifer Edwardson in her 20 layouts workshop! Yes, you heard right, 20 BIG ones...and this time she has even promised a double-pager or two...actually I've heard it will be '5' double-layouts...phew! I'm freakin' out already!!!

Now in preparation for her classes we need to pack kits...20 of them usually, but in this case, 21 for tomorrow...what time is it now, OH, it's 4:24PM and I have officially packed 'ZERO' !!! Yes, because I was in the search for my kit instructions, which I only just found a couple hours ago! Off to pick kids up from school, get one kids' hair cut for the big grade 7 & 8's final Rec Centre dance tonight and tending to another kid who's been sick with the flu for four days now!!!

I am plotting out my layouts...now I'm looking at my pictures and saying to myself, 'Geez, these pics look familiar...have I already scrapbooked this?'...Have you asked yourself this question, or are you really organized and put all your finished layouts right into their proper places right after completing them...??? NOT ME ;)

So then I get this:

Spread them all out into piles...one kid, the other kid etc...

One holiday, the other holiday, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas etc....

Everyday family stuff, my nieces (cause they get their own albums)...

You got it...about a hundred, at least, finished layouts that need to be filed into their proper albums, or start a new album...more like it! Tomorrow when I'm at the class, Sandra from The Memory Workshop, will have her store set up and I can buy some much needed albums!!!...anyways...you get the idea of the 'Can Of Worms' I've opened!

Off to pack those 20+ kits now! Check back later for some pics of some of the finished layouts from tomorrow's class...thanks for stopping by :)
