So Excited!!!

Well the copy of 'The Big Book of Scrapbook Pages' has finally arrived! I had a layout featured in Memory Makers newest book...'Picture This' is the layout that was published...here's some pics of my arrival this afternoon...

I just finished flipping through the book and it has so many awesome layouts in it! I was surprised to see so many sketches in the back of the book too...pretty great book...still reeling over my layout in here!

Having some fun creating with some more Let's Sketch designs by Cheri O'Neill!
I've been hanging onto these photos for some time and it was nice to finally get them scrapped...Jaime's Birthday at Tugboat Junction in Harrison Hot Springs back in 2005!

I am working on the second double page layout with the balance of the photos I have...trying to use some of the same papers so that they will flow when I get them in an album!

Cards, cards and more cards

Ok, so not everybody can rock the *card*...I am one of those people that can't...well maybe I can, but it takes me a ridiculous amount of time because I do 12x12...large scale stuff, not small scale stuff and honestly, it throws me for a loop! Weird huh? well thankfully there are plenty of resources out there for those of us that find card making a challenge :)

Jeannette Lynton, founder of the 'Close To My Heart' scrapbooking and stamping company, has created two beauties in her 'Originals' & 'Wishes' card how-to-books. Without these babies I would truly be lost in cyber world surfing for inspiration. Very time consuming and frustrating for some...

These cards on the other hand, I created with the paper scraps I used for my son's Rugby layouts I posted a couple days ago...made them at the same time...between layouts actually...didn't take me too long and didn't stress me out overly ;)

This card design is called 'All Tucked In' (page 94 ~ Wishes) & I used the 'Enjoy Life' and Birthday 'Card Chatter' stamp sets

This card design is 'card 5' (page 114  ~ Wishes greeting card workshop) & I used the Birthday 'Card Chatter' stamp set

This card design is 'Curtain Call' (page 94 ~ Wishes) & I used the 'Enjoy Life' stamp set

Check out these links for some inspirational Card sketches/maps:

Now remember that any sketch, with a little thought and creativity, can become a page layout or a card layout...remember this post where I used a card sketch from Let's Scrap and created a single paged layout! I hope you find these resources helpful and have a great Thursday!

Mayberry Magic

Here's another great video tutorial from CTMH's Corporate Office...they are using our 'Trees & Things' stamp set...a great summer addition to your stamp collection...

I've used mine with our Mayberry paper collection and created a cute little mini-album from our retired Kraft 3X3 mini-album (now available in White Daisy~Z1141)

Here's some pics of my album and supplies:

I've used the Irresistibles Lots of Dots alphabet stickers inked in Honey and Smoothie inks and stamped our canvas button badge with Honey ink using an image in the Token Alphabet set (E1020)

I used the Trees and Things stamp set(D1467) as well as the Horizon stamp set(C1454)

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your day!

Got Dirt?

My son enjoys anything sports! If he can fit it in around his Hockey season and Baseball season then he's doin' it! This year after much consideration, I agreed to let him play with his school's Rugby team. My main concern of course is injury...luckily he made it through training and games relatively injury free! Minor scrapes, bruises and strained muscles...no problem!

I have used another fabulous 'Let's Scrap' sketch for Matthew's Rugby LO here...showing off the fact that Rugby players don't stop playing because it's raining! I made him stand in the laundry room to strip down...even made him rotate his own socks cause *yuck* I draw the line with rotating stinky, muddy, disgusting socks :) Luckily my kids are used to me taking pictures of every thing they do!

Now here's another LO I did of his Rugby game using one of Jeannette Lynton's designs in the new *Magic* book by Close To My Heart...the design is called 'Out of the Hat' and if you haven't discovered CTMH's How-To books yet...you need to drop me a line so I can hook you up!

Enjoy your Wednesday and thanks for stopping by :)

Let's Scrap

Happy Monday everyone! Unfortunately I haven't enjoyed the sunshine today, I've been battling a migraine all day, just coming up for air now. I was pleasantly surprised though that one of my layouts has been featured on the Let's Scrap site as Inspiration of the Week! How nice is that! I love this site...

I used one of the sketches from March to do a layout of Matthew's Hockey road trip up to Apex Mountain:

I hope they will give you the inspiration to play with your paper and glue too! TFSB

Let's Scrap Sketch

I am loving this site...Let's Scrap is a fantastic place to get some inspiration. This weekend I have created three different layouts from sketches on this site!

This week the new sketch was for a card but I was inspired to create a single-paged layout instead using a poor quality picture of my daughter's Tap solo from her recent competition. The picture wasn't the best because I was in the theatre but I'm really happy with the layout in the end.

Here's the sketch:

and here's my layout using this sketch as a starting off point:

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by :)

You & Me scraps

Ok...so I've mentioned it before...but I have to say it again.....I love creating with my bits n' pieces :)

Last month's 'You & Me' kit was a smashing hit with so many people. What started out as a promotion for May's National Scrapbooking Month has now extended into June's support of all the people affected by recent severe weather in the US.

During the month of June, order a You & Me kit for only $16.50 CAN (a retail value $38.95), and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross 2011 Floods and Tornadoes relief operations. Simply use item number CC1012B to place your order for this sensational kit and help those in need at the same time. The You & Me: Stronger Together campaign will continue until June 30 at 11:59 pm (MDT) or while supplies last.

Holy Smokes!!! For those of us that already have this kit...why not grab another one at this incredible, giving it away price, for a friend or future gift...

Here's the layout I created with the little bits

This is such a fabulous stamp set and incredible deal...don't miss out! Contact me to get your own kit today

Studio J® Free-For-All

Hello my Friends!

I've finally done it!

I just ordered two layouts through Studio J's online scrapbooking...I've had a couple layouts to finish off and I decided to take advantage of this month's special Studio J promotion and get one of my layouts' JPEGs for FREE.

Go ahead and play this month on Studio J and when you finish with your creation...one two page Studio J layout JPEG file will be free! No other purchases are required, so go out there...or click HERE and start creating your layout too!

I decided to order my layouts as JPEGs only as I will send these off to Costco to be printed as a 12X12...this way I will save on my shipping costs seeing as I only had two layouts...

Here's one of them from my daughter's trip to Paris:

Playing with some Halloween papers and pictures from 2009 worked out great for this next layout...I love how this one turned out!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
